celebrating people with disabilities

International Day of Disabled People (IDDP) is supported by the United Nations.  It is an important day when people come together to celebrate people with disabilities and the organisations which champion them.  It is fun, free and inclusive.

This years theme is 'Achievement and Aspiration'.  We chose this theme because Barking and Dagenham IDDP celebrates the achievements and supports the aspirations of every member of our community. Everyone is welcome to celebrate with us.

Our IDDP event will be held at Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club, Victoria Road, Dagenham RM10 7XL on Monday 3rd December from 1.00 PM until 8.30 PM.

We will have lots of family-friendly and inclusive activities like live music, football skills and arts and crafts going on. We will also hear from some brilliant guest speakers. You can also enjoy our buffet and evening disco and entertainment.

The car park is close to the fully accessible venue and this year there will be a Mobiloo near the main entrance to the building, which will have an accessible toilet and changing facilities.

IDDP has been celebrated in Barking and Dagenham since 2003.  The Barking & Dagenham Progress Project hosted the work since 2013.  We are very proud of our work.

An important part of the day is celebrating young people with disabilities. We like to showcase and acknowledge their achievements and aspirations.
